Today the store chain is comprised with more than 120 stores, more than 700 thousand square feet of sales area, more than 400 thousand customers, and 1,600 employees. 1974

Founded in 1974 by entrepreneur Servio Flores Cacho in the city of Alajuela, Costa Rica working with only four employees at the time.

1980

THE COMPANY HAS 6 STORES IN DIFFERENT CITIES.

1999

It was expanded to 31 branches operated in different cities in Costa Rica.

2000

“Gollo” character is born

2004

GOLLO becomes the store chain´s commercial name and key graphic in advertising.

2005

GOLLO a new slogan is launched, “Solo Bueno”, which remains to date.

2012

On September  GOLLO becomes part of Unicomer Group.

2014

In February Gollo launches its e-commerce gollotienda.com offering its loyal customers another point of purchase with online chat support, in-store pickup and home delivery.

2014

GOLLO ÓPTICAS IS LAUNCHED

with the purpose to offer its clients lenses and frames for eye, sunglasses with easy payment plans, as well as ocular medical consultations with specialists, and advanced technology machinery.

2017

Gollo ZAPOTE is launched, becoming the most updated and large furniture and technological gadget’s store in Costa Rica. This new opening becomes the store #100 for Gollo Optical as part of Unicomer group.
