1955

It was founded by Tropigas Gas Company selling liquefied gas, due to demand on house hold items, the company decided to venture into the appliance store business.

1988

The company Tropigas was acquired by Shell International, including the sale of liquefied gas and the appliance store business.

1992

Ceteco acquired the warehouses of electrical appliances sepparating it from the gas company. Almacenes Tropigas carried out a strategy to cover more share of market with the support of La Curacao, positioning itself as second in the head of household appliances.

1996

They changed the original format of Almacenes Tropigas towards the warehouse concept, to appeal to a more popular segment.

2000

Unicomer Group bought the CETECO group that allows them to continue with its aggressive expansion plan; creating new employment opportunities.

2001

As an added value TropiCash offers its preferred customers the opportunity to acquire cash loans with affordable installments.

2007

Almacenes Tropigas started operations in Belize
