Artefacta

Founded in 1989 with Peruvian investments that allowed the company to enter the market as an electrical goods assembly plant under the name ELTESA, nevertheless the same year the company decided to change its business strategy to focus on appliance retailing, in doing so the company opened two stores in Ecuador, one in Quito and one in Guayaquil. Following this, the company decided to change its name to a more commercial one, and this is how Artefacta was born, Ecuadorian “Artefacts”, appliances, for your home.

Artefacta introduces the "Extended Warranty" concept, in order to continue innovating the products and services offered to its customers

2002

Artefacta decided to extend its product line to motorcycles and cell phones, thus becoming one of the first chains to open a different sales channel for these goods

2004

Continuing to expand its technological portfolios, the company ventures into the sales of desktops and laptops, becoming as of this day one of the fastest growing lines of the company

2008

Artefacta changed its advertising concept to a more friendly and innovative one, adopting the image of the ‘Home Appliances Family’, the “Familia Artefacta”, which managed to improve its advertising campaign's levels of identification, recall and results

2009

Artefacta was the first chain in the country to venture into the sale of mass insurance, offering its customers life, accident and unemployment coverage in order to improve customer service

2011

Artefacta and its 98 stores join the Unicomer Group family, maintaining its position in our customers top of mind in the country

2019

he brand extends by offering visual health with “Ópticas Artefacta”

2020

Artefacta launches its online store www.artefacta.com
