This is the second consecutive year; La Curacao realized its race where it transformed a sport into a party to promote peace in the country. Hundreds of participants presented themselves early to participate in this activity that aims to promote in Salvadoran society one of the most important values for human beings: Peace.
The race was held in several of the country's capital streets and had four different routes: 2km, 5km, 10km and a 21km (half marathon).
The purpose of this race was to run with the conviction that in the country citizens wish to preserve peace if we all play our part though small actions.
“We feel very proud to have carried out our second race and to have achieved such an excellent turnout, the streets of San Salvador were filled with enthusiastic runners for once common purpose, peace. We thank everyone for the support they’ve given us and which will allow us to continue working on our country’s well-being." commented, Brenda de Hernández, La Curacao’s Chain Manager for El Salvador.
It should be noted that everything that was collected in the registrations for this race was handed out to the Triathlon Federation.
The race awarded prizes to the first 3 places, both women and men, in all the distances. The prizes were $500, $250 and $100 respectively, all exchangeable for La Curacao products. The rest of the attendees participated in raffles for air tickets, brand product certificates, mini gyms, tablets, TV’s and more.
Last January, La Curacao celebrated one year with the I Share Peace campaign, an initiative that was created to remind Salvadorans every day how important it is to live in peace. Thus, in different parts of the country, a diversity of messages alluding to this initiative were placed, through advertisements, out of home publicity and activities month after month with the idea of “infecting” all Salvadorans to share peace. The race was the activity culmination, that ended a year of constant efforts to promote this message.
You can continue supporting this important initiative through social networks, using the hashtag #yocompartolapaz and show your support by sharing a message of peace. Visit the brand's social networks on Facebook La Curacao El Salvador and twitter @LaCuracaoES.
